Permanent regulation of the use of fire in the Var derpartement .
This note is an informative one. Interested persons are required to consult the edicted rules issued by the prefet concerning the permanent use of fire in the Var of 5/04/2004 available to them at the Town Hall.

GENERAL PROVISIONS
|
From 1 February to 31 March
|
- Period from 1 June to 30 September - Additional periods as may be prescribed by special order of the prefect - The days of wind exceeding 40 km / h on average (rate appreciated locally)

Covering the rest of the year: - From 1 October to 31 January - From 1 April to 31 May
|
|
It is prohibited at all times and in all circumstances, throwing objects on fire in the land described in Article 1, including the channels (and their surroundings) through these same lands.
|
|
|
It is forbidden during red, to smoke inside the woods, forests, heathland, scrub, scrubland, plantation and afforestation as well as tracks that run through them.
|
|
|
PROVISIONS APPLICABLE TO THE PUBLIC
|
It is prohibited at all times and under all circumstances or to bring to light the fire, on the grounds referred to in Article 1.
|
|
PROVISIONS APPLICABLE TO THEIR OWNERS OR ASSIGNS
|
The incineration plants or cut up are subject to declaration
|
It is forbidden for owners or their heirs: or to turn the fire on the land described in Article 1, including in mobile incinerators.

The fires are allowed without administrative formality, but subject to the security provisions under Article 6.
|
|
These prohibitions shall not apply:
- For homes, their dependencies and building sites, workshops and factories.
- For incinerators and barbecues fixed adjacent to buildings provided that the chimneys are fitted with spark arrestor are observed and that the requirements imposed by public authority and regulation, particularly in terms of clearing required.

GREEN PERIOD (art. 2 et 5)
From 1 October to 31 January and 1 April to 31 May
The fires are allowed without administrative formality, but subject to the following security measures:

ORANGE PERIOD (art. 2, 6)
From 1 February to 31 March Are subject to prior notification in the town hall at least 10 days before the expected date of incineration:
INCINERATION OF PLANT CUTS, subject to the following security measures:
In the absence of wind,
Households should not be located in line of trees, Piles should not exceed 2 meters in diameter, 1 meter in height and must be surrounded by a band of security cleared and raked a minimum of 5 meters, Be monitored by people in sufficient numbers (minimum 2 persons in the event of multiple foci) equipped with means to monitor and termination at any time until total cooling, Proceed to the end of the operation to the total extinction of the homes only by flooding, Ensure the total extinction of the homes before leaving the premises
INCINERATION OF SMALL PLANTS ON FOOT (grasses and brush), the following conditions:

RED PERIOD (art. 2, 7)
From June 1 to September 30,
Additional period set by order of the prefect motivated by climatic conditions leading to high-risk days of wind above 40km / h average speed being assessed locally. LIGHTS FOR THE COOKING AND FIREWORKS
Authorizations can be granted by the Mayors for their implementation, subject to:

The authorization under Article 7 of the prefectural decree does not respect the specific regulations regarding the use of pyrotechnic devices.

Authorizations can be granted by the mayors for their achievement (to purchase 10 days before the scheduled date) subject to:

Exceptional derogation
Exceptions duly motivated by the need to undertake or continue work, as well as the traditional carbonization of the charcoal may be granted by the prefect after consulting the concerned Mayor, the Director of Departmental Services 'Fire and Rescue and the Director of Agriculture and Forestry. If the establishment of a security is deemed necessary, the burden lies with the applicant. Applications are to be subscribed in the town hall at least 3 weeks before the expected date of operation.
PENALTIES
Violators of the provisions of the Order are subject to criminal penalties and / or financial.
